On September 12, 2019 Logue Library was graced with the annual visit of the Senior Class of Sacred Heart Academy in Bryn Mawr, PA. These students who are accompanied by their teachers received presentations from our Librarians, Sister Mary Jo Larkin, Kelly Liberona and Jackey Presley to teach how to gather resources to complete their seminar writing assignment about Criminal Fiction and Dystopian Literature
Criminal Fiction Definition: according to Findmeanauthor.com, "crime fiction is the genre of fiction that deals with crimes, their detection, criminals, and their motives. Most - though not all - crime novels share a common structure. First there is the crime, usually a murder; then there is the investigation; and finally the outcome or judgement, often in the shape of the criminals's arrest or death.
Dystopian Literature, according to Pastemagazine.com, "a work of fiction in which social and/or political forces maintain control of a population by
1) restricting individuals' personal liberties and
2) exercising force against those who rebel.
Using these topics, the Logue Librarians discusses topics such as: eBooks and Reference Materials, finding newspaper and scholarly journals articles. The students also learned how to evaluate websites for reliability.
